Nugegoda death toll rises to 19

Six suspects arrested following the explosion in Nugegoda were released yesterday. The death toll rose to 19 with a civilian succumbing to his injuries last morning at the Colombo General Hospital, police media spokesman Senior DIG Jayantha Wickramaratne said.

LTTE's true nature revealed - President, PM

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday unequivocally condemned Wednesday's twin LTTE bombings in Narahenpita and Nugegoda. "The suicide killer attack targeting the Minister of Social Services and Social Welfare Douglas Devananda and the attack at the Nugegoda junction clearly targeting innocent civilians, calls for the greater attention of the international community to these attacks that demonstrate the true nature and unchanging ways of terrorists and terrorism," President Rajapaksa said in a statement.

John Keells Holdings won the best Corporate Citizens award at the Ten Best Corporate Citizens award ceremony hosted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce at the Cinnamon Grand last night. Nestle Lanka was the first runner up while Sampath Bank emerged the second runner up.
