The Government yesterday paid Rs. 100,000 as compensation to each family of the deceased in Wednesday's Nugegoda bomb blast and Rs. 50,000 to each injured person.

The compensation was presented by Ministers Rishard Bathiyutheen and Rohitha Abegunawardana and President's Senior Advisor Basil Rajapaksa, MP.

The money was given under the first stage of the compensation scheme. Bathiyutheen said the balance will be paid after obtaining a full report.
