Nihal Perera invited to visit Ling Cang City Yunnan province by
tourism officials
On a recent visit made by Nihal Perera, a Member, Board of Management
Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, to participate at China
International Travel Mart Kunming, an invitation was extended to Nihal
Perera to visit Ling Cang City after the CITM by Zhang Jinfan Director
of Tourism Adminstration of Ling Cang Municipal Yunnan, China.
After attending CITM, he took the opportunity of visiting Ling Cang
City.He was appointed Consultant to Ling Cang City in September 2006,
and the Director Tourism showed him around on the implementation of
certain recommendations made by him for the Development of Tourism-in
Ling Cang City.He was welcomed by the Director of Tourism and other
Official on his visit to Ling Cang and arrangements were made to visit
Dong Jing Temple. Dong Jing means "Collar Bone" in Dai people's
language. It is a sacred Temple in Southeast Asia.
The "Collar Bone" was excavated and have been lodged in the Dagoba
built by the People of Ling Cang, and thousands of visitors from Myanmar
and Thailand visits the temple daily. The Director-Tourism Ling Cang
City and the officials are actively promoting visits to the temple where
the Sacred Relic is enthroned in the Pinnacle of the Dagoba.
The Director-Tourism Zhang Jinfan and his officials are planning to
visit Sri Lanka with Tourism officials and holiday visitors in February,
March 2008. |
