Musaeus - under 16 netball champions

Musaeus College overcame Colombo International School `A’ team by a margin of 17 goals to three to emerge champions of the under 16 category of the Colombo District Annual Netball Tournament worked off at the National Youth Centre, Maharagama, recently.

The championships was organised by the Colombo District Netball Association.

Before reaching the final the winners posted a comfortable 18 goals to three victory over Colombo International School ‘B’ team while Colombo International School ‘A’ netballers had a narrow eleven goals to ten win over Shanika Sports Club to book their place in the final.

In the consolation final for the third place Shanika Sports Club got the better of Colombo International `B’ team by 16 goals to five.

In other matches Musaeus College beat Lyceum International School by a thumping 23 goals to two, Colombo International School ‘A’ swamped Lyceum International School by an easy 23 goals to nil,

Musaeus College registered another comfortable win over Colombo International School ‘A’ in an earlier fixture of the tournament where the losers collected only one goal to the Musaeus College 19 goals while Shanika SC beat Colombo International School ‘B’ by 23 goals to seven.

In the Veteran event Torrington SC beat Kotte SC, in the Club division ‘A’ Keep Fit Club beat Moratuwa University, in the Club division ‘B’ Musaeus College emerged champions while Araliya SC ended up runners up and Kreeda Shakthi SC and Samudradevi Balika were the third and fourth placed teams respectively.
