Elizabeth Moir school in thrilling 41-39 win over Lyceum

Elizabeth Moir International School beat Lyceum International School, Wattala by a thrilling 41 points to 39 after trailing 21 points to 12 at half time in quarter finals of their under-19 boys Inter-International Schools Basketball Tournament played at British School's courts, Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo. The tournament is conducted by the British School.

For the winners M. Sheine (10) and C. Sheron (11) were the best shooters while Kayan (13) and Ashroff with nine points did well for the losers.

In another quarter final fixture Colombo International School swamped Royal Institute by 78 points to 36 after taking a 32 points to 15 lead at breather.

Sineth Weerasinghe (18) and Imran (16) stood out for CIS while for Royal Institute Sameera (11) and W. Christie with nine points were the top scorers.

Asian International School registered a thumping 87 points to 17 win over host British School to enter semi finals.

The winners were well ahead with 42 points to eight at short whistle. For the winners Ahmed Shafee played a vital role with 25 points who was ably helped by Quaraish and Avin Jayawickrame adding 18 points apiece.

Yusuf Abdulhuseein with seven and Anis Saleh with six points excelled for British School.

Lyceum, Nugegoda received a walk over from Stafford International School. In other matches Lyceum International School, Wattala defeated British School by 45 points to 36.

The scores stood at 21 points to eight in favour of the winners at half time. For the winners Ashroff Sadiq (17) and Jayan Silva (10) were the chief scorers while Yusuf Abdulhussein contributed (22) and Anis Saleh scored 15 points.

Elizabeth Moir International School beat Belvoir College International by 43 points to 25 after grabbing a 21 points to nine at breather. Sheron (12) and Kaul (10) were the top scorers for the winners.

Royal Institute beat Stafford International School by 36 points to 25 after leading 20 points 11 at breather. Best shooters: The winners - Sammera (15) and Ravindran Perera (11),

Stafford - Ryan (10).

CIS beat Lyceum, Wattala by 73 points to 27, half time 30-10 in favour of CIS, Top scorers - CIS- Sineth Weerasinghe (20), Sathis (16), Lyceum - Ashroff (11).

AIS beat Belvoir College International by 75 points to eight, half time 45 points to four in favour of AIS.

The best shooters: AIS - Quareish (18), Anushka (12) and Rahul (12). For the losers Karthihan (4).

CIS beat British School 91-22, half time 43-12 in favour of CIS, top scorers: CIS - Zimar (14), Imran (18) and Sathis (12).

(Girls) AIS beat British School 23-11, at breather 12-6 in favour of AIS, Natasha with (8) and Amy (6) were the main scorers for the winners, For British School Natalie Ratnayake fought a lone battle with six points.

CIS beat Lyceum, Nugegoda by 48 points to 14. For CIS Oshadi Karunaratna with 14 and Thinella (10) were the chief scorers while K. Guruge contributed (10) for the losers.
