The Government has succeeded in surmounting all barriers and obstacles originating in Parliament and outside it that could impede its forward march, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said yesterday.

Don't make historical blunder by backing LTTE, Sangaree tells Tamil Nadu parties

Tamil United Liberation Front leader V. Anandasangaree yesterday pointed out that Tamil Nadu should not make a historical blunder by supporting the LTTE. "The support by Tamil Nadu and its leaders to solve the ethnic problem is counter productive and will not in any way lead to finding a reasonable solution. "Hence I make a strong plea that all concerned parties in Tamil Nadu should forget their differences and work unitedly towards finding a reasonable solution within a united Sri Lanka," he said.

Nestle invests Rs.700 m on factory expansion

Nestle Lanka has invested around Rs. 700 million in their Kurunegala factory this year. Managing Director of Nestle Lanka, Stuart Young said, despite a challenging year as a result of high world market prices of major commodities and local economic conditions, we are continuing to invest in Sri Lanka.
