Colombo Dockyard, overall winner of NBEA



The gold award winner at the National Business Excellence Award was Colombo Dockyard Ltd. Chairman Sinichi Talebe and Human Resources Development Manager M.F.M. Najab accept the award.

The silver award winner at the National Business Excellence Awards was Sri Lanka Insurance Chief Executive Officer Nalaka Godahewa accepts the award.

The bronze award winner at the National Business Excellence Awards was Lanka Tiles Ltd. The award accepted by the Assistant General Manager (Plant and Technical) of the company Patrick Piyasena.

The fourth annual National Business Excellence Awards organised by the National Chambers of Commerce of Sri Lanka was held at the Hilton Colombo and Colombo Dockyard was the overall winner. Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and Lanka Tiles Ltd won the Silver and Bronze respectively.

In addition Colombo Dockyard won Gold Awards for the Engineering Industry sector and the Extra Large-scale enterprise sector.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation also won a Gold Award for the Insurance Sector and was placed runner-up for Excellence in Business and Financial Sustainability, Best Knowledge Integrator and also for the Extra Large Category.

Lanka Tiles swept the boards by winning three Gold awards that include, the large-scale Industries category, The manufacturing sector and the Best Performance Management Practices.

The chief guest was Naoko Ishii, the Country Director, World Bank, Sri Lanka office. Colombo Engineering Enterprises also performed exceptionally well by winning Gold for the Small Enterprise Category and for the category of Other Services.

In addition, the company, which has won twenty medals in the past six years, for the first time won an award for the Best Tech Savvy Award by being placed second.
