Ceylon Chamber now a Superbrand
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has become the first Chamber of
Commerce to be awarded Superbrand status by the Superbrands Organisation,
an independent authority that identifies and pays tribute to outstanding
brands around the world.
The rating follows an evaluation by a Sri Lanka Business Superbrand
Council of 22 distinguished corporate sector personalities.
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce was recognised with this prestigious
status due to its untiring and committed efforts in many fields. Chief
among them are the projects that have gained recognition, such as the
Ten Best Corporate Citizen Awards, IMEXPRO, the Sri Lanka Economic
Summit, Promotion of Eco-Efficient Productivity project, GTZ supported
SAARC and Trade promotion projects, Rain Forest Ecolodge, Career
Guidance project, the Sri Lanka Norway Industrial Co-operation
(matchmaking) programme, and the SME unit.
The servicing of 23 trade associations and 19 bilateral business
councils, being the only chamber in South Asia with ISO 9001:2000
quality management system certification and winning the runner-up
position at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka Annual
Report Awards.
Worldwide study on future of HR
The World Federation of Personnel Management Association (WFPMA) and
The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) are conducting a worldwide study
through the web to identify and address key HR priorities to strengthen
