Book on insurance out soon
Dr. Wimal Wickramasinghe, one-time Managing Director and Chief
Executive Officer of a small composite insurance company, has finalised
a book entitled ‘Situation Essays’ on Insurance in Sri Lanka, consisting
of 761 printed pages on B5 size (large size) with hard cover and is now
in print.
This book on insurance in Sri Lanka is unarguably the most
authoritative and comparative update (up to mid-October 2007) analysed
against a theoretical and practical perspective. In other words, it is a
comprehensive exposition of the insurance industry in Sri Lanka, the
most material hitherto not covered or explored in any other text.
It covers diverse subjects on insurance in Sri Lanka: overall view of
insurance business, life and general insurance business, insurance
education, takaful or Islamic insurance, objective suggestions for
amendment of the Insurance Act, corporate governance in insurance,
microinsurance, implications of the proposed increase of capital in
insurance companies, reinsurance of general insurance, SWOT analysis,
Bancassurance (five chapters), and claims management examination of
Insurance Law in Sri Lanka, investment in Asian Re, and insurance as a
buyers’ market.
A copy priced at Rs. 1,300 would be released in December. |
