Lankans told to invest in Vietnam

Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama held discussions in Seoul with Vietnam’s Planning and Investment Minister Phuc-Vo-Hong, a release said.

Dr. Amunugama and Phuc-Vo-Hong exchanged ideas on bilateral economic relations, especially dealing with investment. The Vietnamese Minister invited Sri Lankan investors to visit Vietnam.

Dr. Amunugama was representing Sri Lanka at the Ministerial Conference on Private Public Partnership (PPP) for infrastructure development where Cabinet Minister of many Asia Pacific Region countries participated.

Due to the rising costs of infrastructure development, many governments are looking at PPP as an effective way of financing large-scale infrastructure projects.

The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, an institution that comes under Dr. Amunugama, is actively promoting investment in infrastructure development, in ports, airports and highway development.
