SLI continues to pay claims for Migrant Workers’ Insurance Policy

Sri Lanka Insurance (SLI) Chairman, D H S Jayawardene has instructed the SLI Management to continue the Insurance policy which was temporarily halted due to the prevailing high claims ratio in comparison with the premium income for over 200,000 employees registered as Migrant Workers contributing tremendously to the National GDP.

Currently, discussions are on with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) for a reasonable solution as SLI has informed SLBFE the inability to continue with the policy with the prevailing claims ratios.
