investment. The Vietnamese Minister extended an invitation to
Sri Lankan investors to visit Vietnam.
Dr. Amunugama was representing Sri Lanka at the Ministerial
Conference on Private Public Partnership (PPP) for Infrastructure
Development where Cabinet Ministers of many Asia Pacific region
countries participated.
Due to the rising costs of infrastructure development, many
governments worldwide are looking at PPP as an effective way of
financing large- scale infrastructure projects.
The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, an institution that comes under
Dr Amunugama, is actively promoting investment in infrastructure
development, in areas such as ports, airports and highway development a
