Market closes high

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) was volatile and the market closed marginally high.

Both indices closed on a positive note during the end of the day’s trading.

The All Share Price Index was up by 3.7 points and the Milanka Price Index went up 14.2 points. The number of shares traded during the day was 4.5 million and the equity turnover was Rs. 121 million.

The companies that contributed to the turnover were Commercial Bank (Rs 16.22 million) Nestle (Rs 15.1 million) and Dialog (Rs 12.8 million).

Companies that were heavily traded in volume wise, Ceylon Glass, Nawaloka and Dialog.

Hatton National Bank to list its debentures by way of an introduction has been approved in principle by the CSE.

These debentures of Rs. 100/- each would be listed on the Debt Securities - Main Board. There will be no Public Issue of debentures.

Five copies of the Introductory Document will be made available to all member firms/trading members shortly.
