New BoI venture making high end shirts
At a time when garments are often mass-produced to meet the high
demand of consumers, a new company, Tailor Store International (Pvt) Ltd
stands out by manufacturing goods for a selective and discerning
clientele. This company, Tailor Store Private (Ltd) opened a
State-of-the-Art factory under the Nipayun Sri Lanka Programme of the
Board of Investment of Sri Lanka on September 29 at Alawwa.
Customers for these high-end shirts can order them online, indicating
details such as neck size, length of sleeves in addition to their choice
of cloth, buttons, and thread. The shirts made by the company are
therefore custom manufactured. They are exported to the Swedish and
European markets.
The company itself is both local and foreign owned. They are sold
from a distribution center in Sweden. This new project represents an
investment of Rs. 54 million and will create 250 job opportunities in
the area.
