Indian Lawyers victorious

CRICKET: The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) Cricket Team met the Indian Lawyers’ Cricket Association Team in a friendly 30-over cricket match at the Moors Cricket grounds recently. BASL team was led by Lasantha Mudalige and the Indian Lawyers’ cricket team by Madhav Mitra.

Indian Lawyers’ scored 228 for 7 wicket in reply to the BASL team by 220 for 9 wicket in 30 overs.

Chrishna Ratty scored 91 and he shared a 100 run partnership for the 3rd wicket with W. Godi.

Indian Lawyers’ 228 for 8 in 30 overs.(Chrishna Ratty 91, W. Godi 45 - M. Wevita 3 for 29.)

BASL 220 for 9 - (M. Wevita 51, A de Silva 50 and Lasantha Mudalige 20 - Sharma 2 wicket for 38).

Best batsman awarded went to Chrishna Ratty, Best Bowler was Manesh Wevita and the Man of the Match was Manesh Wevita.

The trophies were donated to the two teams by BASL Sports Committee Chairman Godfrey Cooray. BASL Cricket manager was R.K. Suresh Cahndra and Indian Manager was Shakti Swarupnigam.

The Indian Lawyers’ Cricket Team also visited Matale and Kandy.
