SCOPP meets SLMM regional heads

COLOMBO: The Secretariat for Co-ordinating the Peace Process (SCOPP) and the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) held their regular weekly meeting on Thursday. The SLMM Head of Eastern Region and Head of Northern Region attended the meeting.

The SLMM welcomed the initiatives taken by SCOPP recently which enabled a group of students from Jaffna to come to Colombo to participate in a cricket match and its sponsoring of students who participated in a sports event in Colombo.

The SLMM Heads of Northern and Eastern regions gave an update on the situation in the North and the East. The two sides discussed issues of mutual concern. The SLMM expressed its appreciation of the co-operation extended to it by Local Government officials in the region.

SCOPP welcomed the participation of SLMM Regional Heads and hoped that it could further strengthen the relationship between SCOPP and the SLMM.
