WCIC launches website

The Women's Chamber of Industrial Commerce (WCIC) will launch a website at the Galle Face Hotel at 4.00 p.m. today. The website hopes to assist women entrepreneurs to get quick on-line information on various aspects to help their business ventures.

Ambassador for the Federal Republic of Germany will be the chief guest. Abans is the main sponsor of this website. It is part of their CSR initiatives. The website which will be serviced and maintained by Abans is intended to serve knowledge and information sharing, networking and increasing awareness of WCIC activities and projects.

Several deserving women in small and medium industries will also be profiled free.

The WCIC has several prominent businesswomen in its committee and amongst its members, and it is envisaged that women entrepreneurs who are desirous of setting business enterprises will have the opportunity to interact with the membership for advice and guidance from its expert panel who are prominent in the fields of banking and finance, imports, retailing, manufacturing, garments, travel and leisure, hospitality, gems and jewellery, just to name a few.

NCE Export Awards today

The 15th Annual NCE Export awards ceremony will be held at the Hilton Colombo, today.

High Commissioner for Pakistan Shahzad A Chaudary will be the chief guest. Over the years this event has come to be recognised as the most prestigious event in the business calendar of Sri Lanka and serves as the Benchmark for all similar recognition events in Sri Lanka.

A special issue of the Sri Lanka Exporter magazine will be released at the NCE Export Awards ceremony.
