MOBITEL, THE national mobile service provider is to provide total
mobile solutions with extensive coverage to the Sri Lanka Air Force, as
part of its long-term national endeavour.
Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Roshan Goonetileke
speaking on the agreement with Mobitel said: "This is a very extensive
package which has not been equalled by any other company. As servicemen,
this type of package is a necessity, as it will help us to spend very
little, while having more airtime over the telephone.
We have received additional lines as well, which will service 50 per
cent of the Sri Lanka Air Force's strength. We are extremely grateful to
a renowned company like Mobitel for coming forward and supporting a
national security provider."
The Sri Lanka Air Force has been a valued customer with the company
since 2004 and through this agreement they have in essence tripled their
volume of business with Mobitel.
CEO of Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel Suren J. Amarasekera, said: "We
consider it a great honour to provide extensive services to the Sri
Lanka Air Force. As a valued customer of Mobitel, we are providing them
with a cost effective yet compelling service proposition.
We did not hesitate to tailor make the solution that we are offering
to fit their requirements. Our growth in coverage has enabled more
servicemen to enjoy the service we provide and I am most grateful to the
Air Marshall and his Air Force team for having tripled the number of
connections they previously had with us."
Air Commodore A. M. B. Amunugama, Director Welfare, Sri Lanka Air
Force was also present.
Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka
