StocExpo Asia oil conference begins September 2

STOCEXPO Asia 2007, leading oil and chemical conference will be held on September 2 to 3 in Singapore.

This would be helpful to Sri Lanka since Sri Lanka is into oil exploration in the future, its sources said.

StocExpo will bring together terminal operators from throughout Asia to gain insights into latest developments in the regulatory process, best practices and technological developments affecting the storage of petroleum products and petrochemicals.

Sri Lanka hopes to go in for oil exploration in the future. Participating in these events would bring experience and exposure by participating in these international conferences and seminars, Lanka IOC Managing Director K. Ramakrishnan told the Daily News Business.

With all this growth and potential what better place for this type of StocExpo to be expanding its portfolio of successful exhibitions and conferences in the bulk liquid storage sector in the petroleum and chemical sector by hosting the inaugural StocExpo Asia event this year.

Singapore is one of the world's leading oil refining and oil trading centres, in addition to being one of the top international petrochemical hubs.

It ranks in the top five bulk liquid ports in the world and boasts a dedicated chemical complex on Jurong Island with 80 established chemical companies operating from the island alone.

Papers from senior representatives of some of the region's key operators and suppliers will facilitate discussion and knowledge sharing to enable safer, more efficient and more cost-effective management of tank farms.

A concurrent exhibition will showcase the latest advancements in equipment and service provision for the sector.

Due to Asia's ever-increasing energy requirements storage capacity is set to increase in the coming years not only in Singapore but also countries such as China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand.

All stakeholders in the oil and chemical sector including terminal managers, commercial and business development managers, inspection and maintenance personnel, EHS managers, security managers, procurement managers, tank engineers and technicians and suppliers and product manufacturers expected will be participated for the event.
