Govt to revive buffer zone proposal - Yapa
People's safety the priority:
Media Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said
yesterday that the Government may have to consider the proposal for
introducing the 100 metre buffer zone which cropped up in the
aftermath of the 2004 Tsunami disaster.

Lankan dies in coma in Bahrain
A Sri Lankan man injured when an empty chemical
drum blew up in his face died yesterday, after eight weeks in a
coma. Amal Priyantha Suje, 33, was welding the drum at the boat
building company Al Dhaen Craft, Sitra, when it exploded on July 10.
