COLOMBO: The Colombo Chief Magistrate and Additional District
Judge Kusala Sarojini Weerawardena yesterday remanded Malaka Manoj
Silva, son of Minister Mervyn Silva, till September 12.
Chief Inspector Abeyratne Dissanayake, OIC, Bambalapitiya police last
morning filing a report before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate in
connection with the assault on accountant Chaminda Senasinghe at a night
club said the suspect who is involved in the assault case is warded at a
private nursing home in Narahenpita Police area.
On an application by the Bambalapitiya police the Mount Lavinia
Magistrate referred the case to be heard before the Colombo Chief
Magistrate last afternoon.
Judge Weerawardena who visited the private hospital where the suspect
Malaka Silva had been warded at the Narahenpita nursing home, ordered
that he be remanded till September 12.
Judge Weerawardena also observed that according to the report before
court that the investigations into the incident had not been completed
and a weapon also had been used in the incident. |
