Fingara Cricket coaching camp in Tissamaharama
Cricket: School cricket training workshop organised by Fingara
International Cricket Academy was held at Debarawewa Maha Vidyalaya
grounds recently. The workshop was inaugurated at 12.00 noon that day
with the participation of about 150 players representing nearly 10
schools.
Similar workshops were conducted in outstations including Ambalangoda,
Galle, Negombo and Dambulla and the school children who participated in
these workshops were provided training by Fingara International Cricket
Academy free of charge.
Accordingly steps have been taken to provide free training for the
students selected from the workshop at Tissamaharamaya. Students from
Walasmulla National School, Weeraketiya Maha Vidyalaya, Rewathamulla
Theraputta Maha Vidyalaya, Hambantota Zahira Vidyalaya, Debarawewa Madya
Maha Vidyalaya and Weeraketiya Rajapaksa Vidyalaya participated in the
workshop organised by the Fingara International Cricket Academy.
The workshop was conducted under the patronage of the Chief Training
Instructor of the Fingara International Cricket Academy Hemantha
Devapriya and instructions were given by ten other training instructors.
Training Instructors of Ceylinco 'A' Fingara team Naweed Navas, Upul
Chandana and Malintha Gajanayake observed the performances of school
players. Fast bowlers, wicket keepers, batsmen and all-rounder as well
as those who displayed skills in various ways were identified.
Further action had been taken to distribute sports equipment for the
benefit of school cricketers. The donations were made under the
patronage of the deputy Chairman of the F & G group Mervin Jayasinghe
and with the participation of F & G Board of Directors.

present with many others.

Under the concept of Deputy Director of Ceylinco Group Mervin
Jayasinghe and with the blessings of Deshamanya Lalith Kothalawala and
Mrs. Kothalawala the Fingara International Cricket Academy was
established on June 25, 2005.
Fingara International Cricket Academy which was established to
identify the defects of players of a number of Asian countries, by using
the bio mechanism owns five kinds of cricket pitches. Further various
projects have been designed for the improvement of skills of the school
cricketers.
Cricket workshops were conducted earlier at Ambalangoda, Galle,
Negombo and Dambulla and at Tissamaharama on this day. The objective of
the Fingara International Cricket Academy is to identify the talents and
skills of school cricket players and bring them up to the international
level which will bring reputation and esteem to the country.
