Lankan trade delegation in Muscat
The high level Sri Lankan trade delegation comprising eight members
from different organisations arrived on September 4, on a four day visit
to the Sultanate.
They will meet Omani counterparts, aimed at promoting bilateral trade
and investment opportunities between the two countries. The delegation
represents key sectors, including food stuff, chemicals, tea and rubber
products.
The visit of the Lankan delegation is on an invitation from the Oman
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). They will meet Minister of
Commerce and Industry Maqbool bin Ali Sultan, and join leading
businessmen of Oman at a meeting organised by OCCI.
They will also visit prominent hypermarkets to make a survey and gain
first hand information about the functioning of such institutions.
The Sultanate and Sri Lanka are expected to sign a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) between the respective Chamber of Commerce to
promote bilateral trade. |
