Sri Lankan girls cagers finish third

BASKETBALL: Sri Lankan girls cagers had to be satisfied with the third place title when they went down to Hong Kong by 61 points to 83 in the semi final of the Asian Schools Basketball Championships played at Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam.

Sri Lanka boys team failed to impress as they were beaten by Malaysia by a margin of 88 points to 51. Before going down to Malaysia Sri Lankan boys also went down to China by 108 points to 35.

The results: (Men) Thailand beat Hong Kong 83-75, Host Vietnam beat Brunei 90-41, Malaysia beat Sri Lanka 88-51, Hong kong beat Singapore 84-51, Thailand beat India 92-68. (Women's) Semi Finals- China beat Thailand 115- 51, Hong Kong beat Sri Lanka 83-61, (Men's) Semi Finals- China beat Hong Kong 97-61, Malaysia beat Thailand 56-66 Malaysia. In the women's final China will take on Hong Kong while Malaysia will confront China in the men's final.
