Nine Tigers killed

JAFFNA: Ten LTTE cadres were killed in two incidents in the North and Wanni on Wednesday, the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS) said.

According to a MCNS spokesman an attempt to infiltrate Muhamalai Forward Defence Lines by a group of LTTE cadres was thwarted by the Security Forces on Wednesday at around 6.30 p.m. "Troops fired small arms and RPG towards the Tiger cadres," he added.

Security Forces successfully repulsed the attack killing seven LTTE cadres.

Following the clash, troops recovered LTTE military hardware and nine landmines.
