Lankan child in critical condition in Oman

Oman : At 8 a.m. on August 13, this Class I student of Sri Lankan School, Muscat, fell out of a 35-feet high window of her home in Hamriyah when her babysitter left her for a few minutes to use the washroom. Though the Royal Oman Police got her to Khoula Hospital on time, little Fatima suffered serious injuries to her brain, and is now on a ventilator, unconscious and bloated.

Her parents Mohammed Shiyam and Inrul Imra Zarook are in a state of shock, as their only child tries to cling desperately to life. Unemployed, Shiyam came to Muscat two years ago, but it's just been a year since his family joined him.

The family is in dire financial straits and Fatima's treatment will cost a fortune. She cannot be taken to her hometown in Sri Lanka, since her condition is extremely critical.

We request our readers to help this distressed family. All contributions and donations can be sent to the following account: Mohammed Shaheed Mohammed Shiyam (Tel: 95145017) Bank of Muscat A/C No: 0026279460084014
