Workshop on Decent Work
A half day workshop entitled “The National Action Plan on Decent Work
and Impact on Sri Lanka’s Trade and Commerce “, which will orient
participants on strategies to contribute towards “fair globalisation”
will be held at the Hilton Colombo Residence (Former JAIC Hilton) on
August 30.
The International Labour Organisation together with the Ministry of
Labour Relations and Foreign Employment in the effort of enhancing
current socio-economic reform work in Sri Lanka; successfully developed
the National Policy and a National Plan for Decent work in August 2006.
The European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka acknowledges the
importance of the private sector joining forces to further strengthen
“Decent work” in Sri Lanka.
Through this joint effort with the International Labour Organisation,
ECCSL endeavours to raise awareness and inspire activity within senior
management, amongst members, across a range of teams with and within the
authority and key external service providers within the local
businesses.
The workshop will be led by Attorney Shyamalie Ranaraja, the key
expert and programme manager for the formulation of the National Policy
and National Action Plan for Decent Work.
Guest appearance will be by Country Director of the International
Labour Organisation in Sri Lanka Tine Staermose and Director of
Commerce, The Department of Commerce, Sri Lanka M. Kulatunga.
The workshop is targeted at CEOs, directors, senior managers, human
resource managers. |
