JKH shares dominate trading

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) picked up yesterday with 19 crossing
in the floor. Out of 19 crossings 13 crossings were reported in John
Keells Holdings (JKH) 3.19 million shares with a share value of Rs. 128
were changed hand.
DFCC and Lambretta have recorded several crossings.
Nearly 1.5 million shares of DFCC and 1.5 million shares of Lambretta
changed hands, with a share value traded at Rs. 115 and Rs. 10.50
respectively, Bartlett Stockbrokers said.
Like in the previous day there was a lot of bidding attempts for Asha
Central shares, its sources said.
During the day’s trading the All Share Price Index went up by 18.91
points and the Milanka Price Index up by 10.60 points.
The number of shares traded in volumes was 18.05 million and the
equity turnover was Rs. 795.2 million.
Local investors were in the selling pressure while their was
considerable foreign investors activity which was mainly in the buying
side amounting to Rs. 446.98 million while foreign sales were 16.5
million.
The most heavily traded stocks were JKH (3.29 million) Asiri Medical
services (2.68 million), Lanka Cement (1.82 million), Lambretta (1.56
million) and DFCC (1.55 million). |
