Kaushal, Gayan see Lanka ‘A’ win

CRICKET: Two of Sri Lanka’s Twenty/20 World Cup members Gayan Wijekoon and Kaushal Lokuarachchi came out with a solid batting performance as they helped Sri Lanka ‘A’ beat India ‘A’ by four wickets in their Triangular limited overs tournament second match played at the Gymkhana Club Ground, Nairobi yesterday.

The Sri Lanka ‘A’ team were struggling at 40 for 6 when Lokuarachchi joined Wijekoon while they were chasing a modest total of 102 runs. The pair steadied the innings from there onwards and figured in an unfinished stand of 66 runs which sealed the game for Sri Lanka.

Earlier India ‘A’ who were put into bat collapsed to 102 runs from 36.2 overs with paceman Nuwan Kulasekera returning amazing figures of four wickets for ten runs.
