AMRC to participate in Formula C’ships

MOTOR RACING: The Asian Motor Racing Club will participate in the
third round of the AMRC Formula Championship to be held in Chennai in
India on Sunday September 2.
The AMRC racing comprising ten racing drivers will leave Colombo on
August 30 and will have practices in Chennai before the races for the
racing drivers to get acclimatised to the conditions there.
According to the AMRC the Sri Lankan racing drivers have performed
quite well in the races held so far with Rohan de Silva, Tharindu Lokuge,
Romani de Silva, Harsha de Silva and teenager Manneendra Amadoru
acquitting themselves well.
The category of vehicles will be Formula LGB/AMRC - 1300 cc push rod
engine (Sri Lankan drivers only). All those possessing an International
‘C’ racing licences will be eligible. This can be obtained from Ceylon
Motor Racing Club.
The itinerary will be as follows: August 30th - 2 practice sessions,
August 31st - 4 practice sessions, September 1st - Qualifying races,
September 2nd - 2 races, September 3rd return to Sri Lanka.
