The Government should develop the Information Technology (IT)
infrastructure to make Sri Lanka as an IT hub in the region, newly
appointed Managing Director Sri Lanka Territory Corporate Office of
Singapore Informatics (SI) Regu Ambalam, said.
“Sri Lanka has not seen the full potential yet. But it could do
wonders in the field of IT if the IT infrastructure is in proper place,
which could ensure IT is in every Sri Lankan’s mind,” Ambalam said.
Ambalam said they are willing to maintain discipline in the institute
to provide complete education for their students.
Singapore Informatics will support the Government to train IT
trainers and students to be equipped with IT knowledge to face global
challenges. Singapore Informatics conducts degree programmes on IT and
Business degrees which has a very high employability anywhere in the
world, he said.
He said education is an important factor to impart IT knowledge in
any country, which should be incorporated into the education system of
the country, where SI could play a pivotal role to make an IT savvy
society.
Ambalam wants to promote Singapore Informatics as one of the most
preferred educational institutes in the IT sector.
It is also one of the few institutes offering online degrees.
