CSE positive sentiments

THE activities of the Colombo Stock Market (CSE) yesterday was ended
on positive sentiments with the All Share Price Index ending at 2427.37
(up 5.20) while the MPI closed at 3325.47 (up 10.54 points), its sources
said.
During the day’s trading in the floor, number of shares traded in
volume wise was 8,285,659.
During the day the total equity turnover touched around Rs 517.7
million and the foreign net buyers to the tune of Rs 66.6 million to the
equity.
This has indicated that foreign investor participation is an
important and decisive factor to create a vibrant stock market in the
country. Further, local investor participation was not satisfactory due
to the uncertainty in the market.
Heavily traded companies in volumes were JKH 2,909,900 priced at
126.25, Dialog 2,362,900 priced at Rs 22.25 GREG 499,600 priced at Rs
9.75, Commercial Bank 365,200 priced at Rs 130.
The emerging sectors in the country are telecommunication,
diversified companies, banks, finance and insurance, beverage, food and
tobacco.
In view of the above most of the foreign investors are to take this
opportunity to the maximum to buy fundamentally sound stocks in the
market, hoping that market will pick up in the future.
