Int’l Computer Driving Licence through Nenansala Centres
The Information Communication Technology Agency ICTA is to introduce
the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) system to the rural
community through the Nenansala centers.
The Consultant of the ICTA J.K Perera said that they would introduce
ICDL system for job seekers in the rural areas.
The ECDL Foundation is the global governing body of the world’s
leading end-user computer skills certification programme, the European
Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), which is known as the International
Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) outside Europe.
It is a not-profit organisation dedicated to helping in raising the
general level of computer skills in society and providing access for all
to the Information Society. Their education programmes are available in
over 146 countries all around the world contain more than 10
international courses in basic and advanced ICT applications.
ECDL /ICDL is the global standard in end-user computer skills,
offering candidates an internationally recognised certification that is
supported by governments, computer societies, international
organisations and commercial corporations globally.
The ECDL / ICDL is a test of practical skills and competencies and
consists of seven separate modules covering computer theory and
practice.
Under the e-Sri Lanka programme, ICTA has completed training for more
than 2,500 government officers, in the ee-Citizen course and more than
2,000 in ICDL. More than 750 trainees have completed these two courses
under the National e-Literacy project. |
