Two LTTErs killed

VAVUNIYA: An LTTE cadre detonated a suicide belt and killed himself when troops on duty in general area Pumankulam in Vavuniya attempted to search two suspicious persons yesterday afternoon, a spokesman for the Media Centre for National Security said yesterday.

Initially three hand grenades were lobbed at troops on duty in Pumankulam when troops attempted to search the two persons on suspicion.

Troops had to retaliate the hand grenade attacks and the other person too died in the retaliatory fire of the troops.
