Lankan delegation leaves for ASEAN sessions

KATUNAYAKE: The Sri Lankan delegation to the 14th regional session of
ASEAN led by Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama left for Manila,
Philippines yesterday.
Bogollagama who will attend the Foreign Ministers forum on August 1
said he would use the opportunity to share with member States Sri
Lanka's experiences which would help curtail LTTE activities abroad
including sea pirating, illegal arms and drugs trade and people
smuggling and money laundering.
He would also brief them on the successful liberation of the East and
dobby their support towards the government programs for the development
and normalisation of civil administration in the region.
The Sri Lanka delegation also included Defence Secretary Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa, Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Donald Perera, Sri
Lanka Ambassador to Philippines M.W. Seneviratne, Foreign Ministry
Director General Ahmed Jawad and Sarath Dissanayake.
