CH confront Kandy SC today
Ranjeeva SENEVIRATNE
RUGBY: CH and FC which came up with a stupendous performance to hold
the formidable CR and FC to a 20-all draw last week, face the tough task
of overcoming the mighty Kandy SC in their Caltex ‘A’ division league
rugby match at Maitland Crescent today.
The lads from Kandy turned in a dazzling display of open rugby to
score a smashing 48-14 win over Army last week and a repeat performance
should enable to overcome CH and FC and retain the Caltex ‘A’ division
league title for a record seventh successive year.
CH and FC went down fighting to Kandy SC by 11-16 in the first round
game and should give the lads from Kandy a run for their money.
However they have been weakened by the absence of hooker Achala
Perera who was ordered off the field by the referee last week while
Kandy SC will be at full strength with the return of Sri Lanka player
Fazil Marija.
