Courses in International Relations at BCIS
COLOMBO: The Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS), is
accepting applications for the certificate, diploma, higher and
postgraduates diploma courses in international relations, which are
scheduled to commence in the second week of September 2007.
The curricular is modernised up to 21st Century standards with inputs
from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India.
These courses are recognised by the Sri Lankan and foreign
universities for higher studies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for
recruitment in the Foreign Service, the Foreign Missions, INGOs and NGOs
for employment.
The courses will be offered at a highly subsidised rate and will be
conducted by a panel of well qualified lecturers and will use
state-of-the-art multimedia, intenet and library facilities and will
further be facilitated by spacious and comfortable rooms.
The diploma course will focus on international law, human rights,
international and regional organisations, etc, and is designed to
stimulate interest in further studies.
Those who have successfully completed the certificate level (internal
candidates), those who possess a minimum of two GCE (A/L) passes,
commissioned officers of the Armed Forces and the sub-inspectors and
above ranks in the Police, and executive grade officers of the public
and private sector are eligible to enrol in the Diploma Course.
The Postgraduate Diploma in International Relations gives an
opportunity for the students to proceed to advanced research, while
equipping professionals in other fields with the necessary conceptual
understanding required for productive engagement in this field.
Those who posses degree or equivalent qualifications, Attorney-at-Law
with a minimum of three years experience, members of recognised
professional organisations (e.g: CIMA, ACCA, CIM, ICASL etc.) are
eligible to apply for this course.
