China donates computers, mobile phones to Cultural Ministry

COLOMBO: The Government of the People’s Republic of China donated 10 computers and 14 mobile phones to the Cultural Affairs Ministry last week to enhance China-Sri Lanka Cultural relations and to mark 50 years of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Chinese Ambassador Ye Dabo presented the equipment to Cultural Minister Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana while emphasising the need to continue the cordial relations between the two countries which has been in existence for over 50 years.

Cultural Affairs Minister Abeywardana at the National Art Gallery while thanking the Chinese Government for their kind donation said China had been a long-standing friend of Sri Lanka which had come to their assistance in their hour of need at every possible juncture.

The Minister also pointed out that China and Sri Lanka had a rich cultural heritage and shared the experience through numerous bilateral exchanges in the field of culture. The Minister emphasised the need to continue the trend to the benefit of both countries in the future.
