Navin India bound for investment promotion

COLOMBO: Investment Promotion Minister Navin Dissanayake will leave the island tomorrow to India for a seven day official visit.

The visit’s main objective is to invite Indians to invest here.

The Minister is expected to have discussions with India’s biggest entrepreneurs regarding new investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

The entrepreneurs he will meet are Aditya Birla Group, Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Mahindra & Mahindra Group in Mumbai and Omaxe Ltd, Emmar MGF Land (Pvt) Ltd in New Delhi, a release said.

Dissanayake will also meet young political leaders of India including Rahul Gandhi of the India Congress Party to discuss about the political and economic situation of Sri Lanka. He is also scheduled to meet political leaders and officials.

BOI’s Deputy Director General (Infrastructure) L.D. Dickman and Director (Promotion) C. Ignatius will also participate.
