COLOMBO: Liberating the Tamil speaking people from the clutches of the Tigers by military defeating them from the entire Eastern province including Thoppigala is a matter to feel happy about.

The crucial military victory at Thoppigala, some sections claim is nothing to talk about such as a terrain of little strategic importance, a total jungle hide-out etc. The Tigers have been disowned of all their camps in an around Thoppigala.

This defeat is the worst in the recent past for tigers. A political solution to the problem of the Tamil Speaking People needs to be arrived at urgently.

All the displaced from the East need to be resettled and re-habilitated whilst establishing a democratic governance in the regions, states a press release issued by the Ministry of Social Service and Social Welfare.
