Lankans take honours in drawn game

CRICKET: The Sri Lanka under-19 team took major honours in their three-day match against the touring Bangladesh under-19 team which ended in a draw at the Colts CC grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.

Bangladesh under-19 chasing 284 runs for victory finished the day on 221 for 6 in their second innings.

Earlier Sri Lanka under-19 declared their second innings at 178 for 4 with Janith Perera scoring a fluent 71.

Sri Lanka under-19 329 and 178 for 4 decl. (A. Priyanjana 38, L. Thirimanna 23, J. Perera 71, N. Mazahir 32).

Bangladesh under-19 224 and 221 for 6 (Mithun Ali 23, Nazir Hossain 65, Mahamudul Hasan 77, C. Jayampathi 2 for 34).
