Call to support President's peace endeavour

GALLE: "We should strengthen the hands of President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is untirely working for peace. We all should be united to accomplish his task to develop the country, said Western Province Governor Alavi Mowlana.

Mowlana was speaking at a ceremony to unveil the statue of former Labour Minister late M.P. De Soysa.

M.P. De Soysa (Snr) resigned from the Senate to accommodate Mrs.Sirimavo Bandaranaike in the Senate. This shows the dedication by then SLFPers. "But the present context is completely changed receiving petty profits is the most priority of them, he said.

He has chartered a course of action for the last several decades for the amelioration of the condition of the working class and had been a tower of strength to all the SLFP leaders who ruled this country.
