Aruna Fernando elected new CIMA president

APPOINTMENT: The Chartered Institute of Management
Accountants, Sri Lanka Division elected Aura
Fernando as its new President at the Annual General meeting held
recently in Colombo.
Fernando, is a CIMA Fellow and an Associate member of the British
Computers Society, UK.
The new CIMA President delivering his maiden speech at the ceremony
to welcome him at the Cinnamon Hotel in Colombo said, CIMA has now been
in Sri Lanka for more than 40 years.
From humble beginnings in 1965 as the Sri Lanka Branch of the
Institute of Cost and Works Accountants, CIMA Sri Lanka made great
strides. Fernando emphasised that CIMA UK has tremendous confidence in
our operation in Sri Lanka.
This confidence was clearly illustrated by their decision to invest
in our building. It has been confirmed this year by the decision to
appoint CIMA’s first ever divisional Chief Executive. |
