Youth to be made stakeholders of development process

Colombo: The "Tharunyata Hetak" Organisation initiated in 2005
with the intention of empowering the youth to meet the challenges of
tomorrow is gathering momentum with several initiatives been launched to
make the youth productive stakeholders in the country's development
process.
Describing the purpose of their worthy cause, the Leader of the
Organisation Namal Rajapaksa yesterday said that their sole intention
was to produce upright citizens in the contemporary society.
According to Rajapaksa the organisation was broached as a result of
much deliberations and had come a long way since it's inception to lead
the youth of the country on the correct path irrespective of
differences. With the upcoming "Poson Poya" in mind the Organisation has
organised a series of programmes with the conservation of chosen
historical religious sites taking pride of place.
A number of religious programmes centred at "Mulkirigala Viharaya" in
the South too is in the pipeline with 05 pandals erected in the
surrounding areas and a vesak lantern competition, a Bakthi Gee recital,
leadership programmes etc. to be expedited.
Describing the way forward Rajapaksa said "The Thurunu Issawwa"
programme is ready to be launched on July 08 at the BMICH with a series
of seminars which is to be followed throughout the country with the
topic of how to produce an upright citizen being discussed at length.
Simultaneously a scholarship programme too is to be followed.
Rajapaksa also observed that they have received a number of requests
from several schools in the newly liberated areas in the North and East
with regards to equipment which is to be met in the near future.
The Organisation has also organised a series of seminars in schools
Islandwide to educate students, parents and teachers to come up with
viable solutions to the drug menace. A series of seminars are to be
followed starting from August for Ordinary Level students Rajapaksa

Namal Rajapaksa made an open invitation to all to join hands to
