380 gelignite sticks seized

PUTTALAM: Puttalam Police have taken into custody a van transporting 330 Gelignite sticks along with a suspect on Thursday in Puladiya area.

There were two spare wheels in the van when it was taken into custody by the police. The cache was hidden in these two spare wheels, Puttalam Police said.

According to the police the suspect had intended to transport the gelignite sticks to Trincomalee.

Police sources said that the suspects had used the particular van for transporting gelignite sticks earlier too.
