Kandy SC looking for 4th victory

RUGBY: Defending Caltex League champions Kandy Sports Club who are
going great guns this season will look for their fourth successive win
when they take on Police Sports Club in a Caltex Rugby League tournament
match to be played at Police Park in Colombo today at 4.30 p.m.
This will be the first time this season that Kandy Sports Club will
play away from their invincible den at Nittawela. They have so far
scored three smashing wins over Old Zahirians 77-0, Sri Lanka Army 66-3
and Sri Lanka Air Force 82-3 to notch up the season's highest score.
Their line has been still not crossed with just a penalty and a drop
goal being scored against their 225 points which included 37 tries.
Kandy SC will be without their centre Chamara Withanage and co-centre
Sajith Mallikarachchi who are in the injured list. Apart from this duo
they will be at full strength to check the cops.
Police Sports Club after their fine win over Havelocks Sports Club
have not lived upto their expectations losing to CH&FC 0-15 and
virtually surrendered to the red shirts losing 11-81. This is something
unbelievable knowing the resistance the cops are capable of providing.
They are expected to get over this jolt and give the Kandy team a
torrid time.
