It is very easy even for a person with an iota of brains to
understand what Ranil wants. He is now travelling around the world
perhaps to topple the Government believing in his own Raja yoga. He
spreads rumours and whatever the LTTE wants. He says on international
media that we now do not have a democracy, no media freedom and no
nothing in the country.
He also goes to the extreme and says that the daytimes in our
motherland is dark. He may be blind for he wants power, but he is part
of the problem and definitely not a part of the solution.
He is hell-bent on getting the power as the leader with no regard to
the dignity of our people and some times he is making statements on
international media which are nothing but ridiculous. To any politically
literate person his agenda is obvious.
He needs international and the LTTE's support to come to power. This
is the only key he has to topple the government. So he keeps on
travelling and becoming more and more naturally the mouth-piece of both
the LTTE and the international organisations that are pro-terrorists.
His ultimate plan is to topple the Government by helping the LTTE and
the pro-LTTE organisations launch sinister plans of interfering and
humiliating the collective will of our people and the Government.
The recent acts of the British government interfering with our own
affairs makes me puke! People should wake up, before it becomes too late
and learn to live with dignity.
Does our government interfere with the British invasion of Iraq? What
is wrong with the British government? Are they now coming to their
senses that we are no longer their colony?
The British can keep their loans and we would learn to live without
their loans. The British cannot pay enough to us for violating our
rights when they ruled our land by force.
Although there are some mistakes, this Government is the best thing
that ever happened to people of Sri Lanka. But it is very essential that
our pro-people government must protect its people and Sri Lanka from
feral forces such as the LTTE and its terror supporters.
The Government should encourage political discussions among educators
and scholars who are not politicians to highlight the evil actions of
the losers!
In my humble opinion, with no intending offense to Ranil
Wickremesinghe, our country should be protected from Ranil's bad
statements.
Some statements are detrimental to our national security. For
instance he keeps saying that the Government is responsible for human
rights violations which would encourage foreign elements to intervene in
our own affairs. This has already begun to happen thanks to people like
Ranil and Prabhakaran.
In my life, now I am being in the upper forties, I have never voted
for any politician. This is because I used to think that many
politicians are indecent and corrupted. Moreover, I have never asked for
employment from any politician.
Neither have I been offered any form of employment or support in the
government or a public sector. But, my first vote is still waiting,
before I die, to cast on a person who is the real leader in Sri Lanka.
I will definitely support and cast my very first vote for Mr.
Rajapaksa for his good work in the next Presidential Election. Work
counts more than the words!
I have no hesitation to express my opinion that with the blessings of
all mighty super natural forces and our innocent peace loving people,
Mr. Rajapaksa should rule from the North to the South, East to the West
and all over our paradise island!

This is an urgent appeal to the Management of the Colombo Municipal
Council (CMC) to take remedial action to clean the Crow Island beach
immediately. A small vessel anchored just outside the port and long
abandoned has disintegrated during the recent storm and has got grounded
on the beach.
But what is really dangerous is what happens to the material that has
polluted the land in large quantities, strewn all over.
Should these masses of foam material be contaminated with any toxic
material, it is bound to cause a huge health hazard to the hundreds who
visit the beach and the surrounding houses.
The CMC could obtain the assistance of the Port management, the coast
Conservation Authorities, Central Environmental Authorities and if
necessary the Navy. However, the final responsibility should be solely
on the Municipal Authority. This is due to the fact that if a hoarding
is displayed at the beach, it is the CMC that will quickly demand the
rent.
Therefore, this appeal goes to the Municipal officials to take
immediate remedial action and thereafter ensure that the beach is
regularly cleaned with the assistance of the 'Lions' who have taken much
interest in such endeavours.

This is a very genuine request and the teachers who voluntarily offer
their services must be highly commended and rewarded with highest awards
like Deshamanya. (Reference DN June 05).
In addition, they must be offered a handsome fat salary for others
who are greedy and stick to big popular schools feel frustrated through
jealousy and ashamed of themselves.
Most of these teachers of influential people are in debted to the
nation as all of them received free education. It's a good deed and the
blessings will come upon you as the President of this country.

Every Sri Lankan must be proud of child actress Sarala Kariyawasam,
for being honoured as the best child actress of the world for the role
she played as a small girl called 'Chuiyya', in the film Water. This
honour has been accorded to her by Hollywood Young Artists' Foundation.
It was heartening to read in a newspaper report that a felicitation
ceremony is being organised in Colombo to welcome her on return from
America.
In this instance, all Sri Lankans should be grateful in felicitating
Deepa Meththa also, the directress of the film Water for her role,
played in identifying, selecting and directing this small girl.
At the time of the release of the film it was reported in the media,
how this girl was picked up and looked after by her during the shooting
of the film giving her all the facilities to continue her studies. It is
she, who moulded her latent talent into this state.

We have read many articles published in papers with regard to
ineligibility and some prominent rugby playing school going in front of
court of law to punish the other. It is indeed a sad story of the day
that the game had come to this stand. It is a well-known fact that
Isipathana College are been deprived of taking part in a tournament
because of an ineligibility of a player at the last year's tournament.
But, many other schools who are allegedly guilty of the same issue
are enjoying the tournament without any objection from any school. Even
the college raising the issue of ineligibility knowing very well of the
other offences created by many others are enjoying the tournament with
them and is only objecting to Isipathana's ineligibility.
This, very well and clearly shows the hidden agendas and
pusillanimous acts to avoid playing the game and take defeat or victory
in the same spirit. One would not call this sportsmanship for sure. Now,
one would think, why had this issue pilfered to court?
Can't the two principals discuss and agree on a suitable course of
action and get on with the game.
Why can't the Ministry of Education step in and resolved the issue
once and for all. The answer to this question would give the correct
picture to the issue in hand which had now gone to a point of no return.
Consequently to the untimely/bad decisions of the relevant
authorities and the heads of both schools the faith of 15 rugby players
are now in the hands of a court judgement. Also in a different article
published, it is said that there are many other ineligible students
representing top schools.
Though the reporter had not published the names of the top Colombo
schools of violating laws, I am sure the guilty parties who scream there
guts out in court rooms may now look at their own backyard for
ineligible players.
Finally may I wish that sanity prevail in school rugby and all these
issues be sorted out without personal egos winning the day.
