Telekom Chief briefs President on broad-basing communication network

COLOMBO: President Mahinda Rajapaksa who met Telekom Malaysia Chairman Tan Sri Dato Radzi Mansor at Temple Trees yesterday, discussed on the highest ever BOI project of US $ 300 million, jointly undertaken with Dialog Company of Sri Lanka, Presidential Media sources said.

Mansor briefed the President on broad-basing of their communication network in the rural areas and a host of other infrastructural developments, including the introduction of sophisticated and value added services, including Fibre Optical technology.

Dialog Chief Executive Officer Dr. Hans Wijesuriya, Director C. Prelis and Treasury Secretary Dr. P. B. Jayasundera participated in the discussions.

The inking of the Investments Agreements had taken place at a ceremony recently with Enterprise Development and Investments Promotion Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama presiding. The agreements have been signed by Mansor and BOI Chairman/Director General Dammika Perera.
