Lasitha and Piyushani badminton champs
BADMINTON: Lasitha Menaka of Sri Sumangala College Panadura and
Piyushani de Silva from Lindsay BMV clinched the boys and girls singles
title respectively at the 36th junior national badminton championships
concluded at the Royal College Sports Complex courts in Independence
Avenue yesterday.
Menaka defeated Eranga Fernando of Maliyadeva College Kurunegala in a
three setter 20-22, 25-23, 21-16 while Piyushani had the better of her
teammate Ruwani Chaturika in straight sets 21-10, 21-14.
