Bus collides with gas tanker, 25 dead

INDIA: Twenty-five people were killed when a bus burst into flames after colliding with a gas tanker in western India, authorities said on Tuesday.

The accident occurred late on Monday in Anand district, 45 km (30 miles) south of Ahmedabad, the main city of Gujarat state, when the bus collided with the truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas, said fire officials.

"About 25 passengers died due to burns. Some were totally charred," said M.R. Karanjia, a district police official.

Ahmedabad, Tuesday, Reuters.
